Turkish company to reconstruct communication network in Azerbaijani region

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.2 / Trend corr S.Babayeva / Turkish telecommunication company Karel will hold the reconstruction of communication network in Agsu district, Azerbaijan, a source at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan (MCITA) said.  

The company won a tender issued by Aztelecom production unit on reconstruction of central and rural automatic telephone exchanges of Agsu. 

Karel has numerously won tenders issued by the MCITA. The company reconstructed communication networks of Neftchala and Saatli regions. 

Agsu is located in 162 kilometers outside Baku. The district has population of 64,500 people.

The ministry reconstructed central automatic telephone exchanges in Ismayilli, Jalilabad, Ujar, Lerik Yardimli, Zerdab and Neftchala in 2008. The number of the reconstructed communication hubs reached 48.

The electronic automatic telephone exchanges currently make up 83.1 percent in the country with 85.5 percent in Baku and 80.7 percent in regions. The number of telephone sets makes up 15.5 per 100 individuals in Azerbaijan.
