Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 9 / Trend H.Valiyev /

A small number of base stations suffices to deploy a 4G network in Baku, Ericsson Network Support Chief Engineer Denise Kale told Trend .

According to Kale, one base station is enough to cover large areas with appropriate optimization.

"By implementing 4G standard based on 3G, you can achieve radical changes in consumer Web services. In existing networks, the 3G data transfer rate is up to 7.2 Mbps and the maximum rate reaches up to 56 Mbps. In the future, with a transition to 4G, the standard data rate would be 150-300 Mbs," he said.

The largest mobile operator in Azerbaijan Azercell is constructing a 3G network using Ericsson equipment.
