The Baku Telephone Communications Production Unit is concluding operations to transfer number capacity of automatic telephone exchanges 470/474/475/476 to NGN(Next Generation Network) technology, Baku Telephone Communications deputy director Rasul Gurbanov told Trend .
He said the operations will be complete in 10-15 days. Now phased switching of numbers of subscribers of these automatic telephone exchanges, beginning with the numeral 4 (470/474/475/476) to the new electronic automatic telephone exchange with the beginning of numeral 3 (370/374/375/376) with preservation of the following six phone numbers is being conducted.
"So far, about 270,000 of 670,000 numbers used in the Baku Telephone Communications network have been transferred to next-generation network. Preparatory operations for the reconstruction of automatic telephone exchanges 494 and 438 will be held in the near future," Gurbanov said.
Introduction of NGN for Baku telephone communications is one of the priorities, which will enable the operator to achieve sustainable growth of the segment of new services in the long- term perspective.
