Information Technologies Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan is working on the accreditation of a team to respond to computer incidents AZ-CERT in the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association (TERENA), said the director of the Institute Rasim Aliguliyev.
According to Aliguliyev, being one of the components of information security, AZ-CERT was established on the basis of academic computer network AzScienceNet.
"As part of the project, today monitoring is conducted on paranormal phenomena and emergencies in the Internet, viruses are timely detected and other measures are taken that have a direct impact on improving safety and quality of the Internet," said Aliguliyev.
According to him, creating a response team, the Institution has committed itself to a number of technological and organizational measures.
In the future, the activities of AZ-CERT will not be limited to the operational response and collecting information on incidents related to information security. It will carry out research and analytical studies and cooperation in this field with international organizations.
The establishment of such a structure in Azerbaijan is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Convention on Cybercrime.
