Kazakh and Chinese telecommunication companies Kazakhtelecom and China Telecom signed a memorandum on construction of the second junction on the Kazakh- Chinese border in the Dostyk - Alashankou region, Kazakh company reported.
"The parties believes that the document will be one more step towards further integration of Kazakh and Chinese telecommunications networks and improvement of the region's position in the world's telecommunications industry ranking," the company said.
Moreover, according to the Kazakhtelecom's Chairman of Board Kuanyshbek Yesekeyev, this project will improve the quality of the company's contacts with the international communication community.
"This, in turn, opens up new possibilities of the republic's transit potential," Esekeev said.
Moreover, within the meeting the heads of the two companies discussed issues of further development of bilateral cooperation.
According to the Kazakhtelecom company, the two companies have been cooperating actively for 12 years. Within this period Kazakhtelecom and ChinaTelecom signed six documents on cooperation.
