Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev launched the first high-speed network of the fourth generation LTE (Long Term Evolution) in the cities of Astana and Almaty within the national teleconference on Tuesday, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.

According to Kazakh Transport and Communications Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev, it is planned to launch fourth generation services in the cities of Karaganda, Aktau, Atyrau and Aktobe next year and connect all regional centers to 4G by the end of 2014.

Official sales of 4G subscriber terminals will start on December 26 in 23 retail outlets of Astana and Almaty, Kazakhtelecom's Chairman of the Board Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev said.
4G services will be rendered by Altel - a subsidiary Kazakhtelecom and the first national mobile operator in Kazakhstan.
