In January 2018, the number of phishing attacks in Azerbaijan’s segment of Internet decreased by 5.5 percent compared to December 2017, according to Netcraft analytical company’s report.
The report said that one phishing attack productive for scammers accounted for 558 sites in the .az domain in Azerbaijan, which accounts for 0.17 percent of all number of online resources registered in the .az domain (over 29,500 sites), according to the report.
The analysis is based on the Netcraft Toolbar program, which is a plug-in for browsers. The program notifies users of a potentially dangerous Internet resources and prevention of a phishing attack.
According to Netcraft, one phishing attack accounted for 718 sites in Ukraine, 2,071 sites – in Uzbekistan, 741 sites – in Russia, 716 sites – in Kyrgyzstan, 872 sites – in Belarus, 330 sites – in Armenia, 646 sites – in Kazakhstan, 348 sites - in Georgia.
