Turkey talks launching its satellite into orbit

Turkey’s Turksat 6A satellite will be launched into orbit in 2020, the country’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications told Trend Feb. 7.

The work is underway to assemble the Turksat 6A satellite, according to the ministry.

The satellite, which is planned to be used for telecommunication purposes, will be assembled using domestic components, the ministry said.

The ministry also noted that in 2017, a tender was held to create Turksat 5A and Turksat 5B satellites.

Construction of the Turksat 5A and Turksat 5B satellites is underway, the ministry said, stressing that a number of projects in the space industry are expected to be implemented in 2018.
