Number of inquiries related to computer security in Azerbaijan drops

The number of requests related to computer security in Azerbaijan decreased by almost 26.7 percent in November 2020, compared to October 2020, and amounted to 414.

This is reflected in the report of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) under the Special Communications and Information Security State Agency of the Special State Security Service of Azerbaijan.

According to the data, 98.3 percent of the total number of requests were considered and satisfied in November.

During the reporting month, based on the information security audit conducted by the CERT, 26 reports were prepared and sent to the appropriate structures, which is twice as much as in October.

According to the CERT, 5 domains and 17 subdomains were registered in the Azerbaijani internet segment over the past month.

“The total number of requests related to computer security from January through November 2020 was 4,710, of which 97.3 percent were reviewed and satisfied. During the specified period, on the basis of the audit on information security, 292 reports were prepared and sent to the relevant structures,” reads the report.

Over the past 11 months of 2020, 44 domains and 136 subdomains were registered in the Azerbaijani internet segment, which is usually used by organizations to create unique site names for their divisions or services.

During 2019, the number of requests related to computer security in Azerbaijan increased by almost 21 percent compared to 2018 and amounted to 4,447.

According to CERT data, 45 domains and 107 subdomains were registered in 2019 in the Azerbaijani internet segment.
