The scientific computer network of Azerbaijan (AzScienceNet) will be linked to the pan-European ‘GN4-3’ digital scientific-educational network project of GEANT organization, Trend reports on Feb.3 referring to the website of the Institute of Information Technologies under Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences.
According to the website, the main goal of the linking is to provide users with access to research infrastructure and electronic resources in Europe with equal, high-performance network access.
GEANT, in cooperation with partners of the national research and educational networks, provides users with unlimited access to communications, computing, analysis, storage, programs and other resources anytime and everywhere.
"Currently, work is underway to connect AzScienceNet to the GN4-3N project. Necessary work is underway to confirm AzScienceNet's membership in the project," the website said.
The GN4-3N project involves 41 national scientific-educational networks, as well as more than 500 specialists.
