Digital projects in area of healthcare with introduction of artificial intelligence were presented in Kazakhstan during the Digital Almaty-2021 international forum, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.

The presented projects combine the use of artificial intelligence in the practice of doctors of narrow specialization, in such complex areas as early diagnosis of cancer and ischemic stroke.

‘Forus Data’ company has focused on creating PACS, a centralized medical archive for radiological images. The images in which artificial intelligence has detected serious pathologies are automatically assigned the highest red priority. Then the priority is given to the images with minor pathologies and without pathologies.

The AI-processed image is saved next to the original one for comparisons. As a result of AI analysis of the image a heat map of the detected pathologies and a list of symptoms is formed. The AI will be able to identify the 14 most common symptoms of lung diseases, including pneumonia, tuberculosis, oncology. Processing and saving the result is done automatically, without the participation of a doctor.

Prioritization using artificial intelligence allows diagnostics of patients with pathologies on the same day as the image was taken. Without service, patients would wait 3 to 14 days for a result.
