Azerbaijani-Russian cooperation in the ICT sector is a priority of bilateral relations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia said during the outgoing week.

"Software and telecommunications equipment from Russia is quite popular in Azerbaijan. So, in all Azerbaijani schools, the ‘Algorithmic’ computer science training program, developed by Russian experts, has been introduced into the curriculum," the ministry said. "Yandex company is actively developing its services in Azerbaijan, and ‘Code security’ company together with Azerbaijani IT specialists is ready to create a new line of Azerbaijan-made products to protect data inside the country. These products will also have broad export prospects."

There was such information during the outgoing week that the high technologies from Korean producers are widely represented in Azerbaijani market.

The Korean innovations are represented in the sectors of Baku city management, the organization of the university education system, the intellectual property management system and in a number of other areas with the use of high technologies.

The Korean side is closely cooperating with the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

There was also the information during the outgoing week that the validity of the licensing agreement for Microsoft solutions for schools and universities in Azerbaijan is planned to be extended in 2021.

Last year, all schools in Azerbaijan were transferred to distance learning on the Microsoft Team platform, and 38 Azerbaijani universities also switched to this platform.

During the outgoing week there was also the information that Philips LED solutions allow to increase productivity and save resources, as well as grow crops completely without natural light.

Thus, it is possible to increase the yield of tomatoes by 30 percent without the use of growth stimulants and pesticides, while reducing water consumption in production by 80 percent.

There was such information during the outgoing week that the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA) and the Association of Financial Technologies (AzFina) plan to develop cooperation in the field of digital financial services, ensuring the most secure digital payment ecosystem, as well as in a number of other areas.
