BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. It was noted this week that the International Astronautical Congress, which is going to be held in Baku next year, will contribute positively to the development of the space industry in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The congress is going to provide Azerbaijan as well as the whole region with the opportunity to perform as a leading force in the creation and development of the space ecosystem.
Such huge initiatives as the "Call for Papers" science fair in the space field, the "Space Leaders" grant program, the programs for the youth in this field, as well as the IAF student competition, will be held during the congress that will be held on October 2–6, 2023. Also, the Frank J. Malina Astronautics Medal, and the Luigi G. Napolitano Award, will be presented.
This week it was announced that Founder and Chief Executive of Space X, Elon Musk, and Founder and Executive Chairman of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, may participate in the International Astronautical Congress. In general, the congress will be attended by leading organizations in the space sector from the US, France, and Turkiye as well as representatives of organizations that determine the global space agenda such as NASA, CNES, Airbus, and Boeing, as well as scientists and students.
Furthermore, the average download speeds for Azerbaijan's mobile and broadband Internet access were 33.8 Mbps and 26.18 Mbps, respectively, in October 2022. Azerbaijan has made its way up to 61st from 59th by data transfer rate on broadband internet access. During this period, the average speed of incoming and outgoing downloads worldwide through the mobile network totaled 33.43 and 9.05 Mbps, respectively.
In addition, a new project on online ticket sales for intercity and interdistrict regular bus routes has been developed in Azerbaijan. This program has already been installed at numerous bus terminals, and preparatory work and staff training have already been carried out. The program is expected to be launched in the near future. The AYNA information system for online ticket sales is also being developed.
