The Ministry of Communication & Information Technology of Azerbaijan intends to discuss measures taken within the State Program for Development of Communications & Information Technology in Azerbaijan (E-Azerbaijan), the Azerbaijani Minister of Communications & Information Technology, Ali Abbasov, stated, Trend reports.
According to him, there are plans to hold a broad conference in December-January as a result of measures taken within the State Program over the past year.
The State Program E-Azerbaijan covers 2005-2008 and is aimed at implementing economical-structural reforms, modernizing and expanding areas within communications and information technology and preparing and realizing projects to ensure the transition to the information society.
The primary goal of the project is to ensure the development of the communications and information technology in Azerbaijan, as well as to ensure the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of the ICT in the country and to plan and also to carry out projects in accordance with the goals and directions specified in the State Program. As a result of measures specified in the State Program, it is expected to create the infrastructure of the communications and information technology that meets the contemporary demands and ensure a basis for the transition to the information society.
