( Mobile ) - Personally, I'm a bigger fan of earphones than I am of DJ-style cans, so this set of high-end earbuds from Sony sounds like it could be right up my alley (no pun intended). The MDR-EX700SL is the latest addition to Sony's popular EX Monitor series of in-ear buds. Measuring 16mm wide, these earphones have a sensitivity of 108dB/mW, an impedance rating of 16 ohms, and an output of 200mW.
Although I haven't tried them out myself, I'm pretty sure that the sound quality coming out of these puppies will be head and shoulders above that offered by the "free" earbuds that come packaged with most MP3 players. They say that the Sony pair have multiple layer diaphragms made from high polymer materials, reducing vibrations while maintaining quality.
Set to go on sale in Japan on October 20, the Sony MDR-EX700SL will retail for a rather hefty 36,750 Yen. That works out to about $315.
