Kazakhstan's revenues from transporting cargo by air double

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 3.1 billion tenge ($7.5 million) from January through February 2021, which is 2.3 times more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in Feb. 2021 amounted to 1.4 billion tenge ($3.3 million), which is 97.2 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 4,070 tons, which is 2.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year (1,590 tons in Feb. 2021, decrease by 25.1 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 8.4 million ton-kilometers which is 13.9 percent less than during the same period of last year (3.01 million in Feb. 2021, a decrease of 45.1 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 34.1 billion tenge ($81.1 million) from Jan. through Feb. 2021, which 32 percent less than during the same period of last year. February’s revenue from passenger transportation was 16.2 billion tenge ($38.6 million), which is 17.7 percent less than in Feb. 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 1.1 million people, which is 10.8 percent less than during the same period of last year (561,430 passengers in Feb. 2021, down by 7.1 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 1.6 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 32.7 percent. February’s passenger turnover was 817.5 million (25.1 percent decrease year-on-year).
