Russia’s 1H2021 export of motor vehicles for goods transportation to Turkmenistan down

The share of export of motor vehicles for goods transportation from Russia to Turkmenistan decreased by 5.2 percent in the first half of 2021, the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia (Rosstat) told Trend.

According to the information, Russia exported to Turkmenistan goods worth $111 million in the first half of the year. It is noted that the import of Russian goods to Turkmenistan decreased by $20 million compared to the same period last year.

Thus, during the reporting period, Russia exported to Turkmenistan mainly pipes, tubes, and hollow, seamless, ferrous metal pipes in the amount of $18.3 million.

In addition, in 1H2021, the volume of exports of motor vehicles for the transport of goods from Russia to Turkmenistan amounted to $13.5 million. It is noted that the share of the total export of these goods decreased by 5.2 percent ($22.7 million in 2020).

Also, in 1H2021, Russia exported to Turkmenistan sunflower, safflower, or cottonseed oil and their fractions in the amount of $11.8 million, reducing the import of this product by $5.6 million ($17.3 million in 2020).

In turn, Russia imported from Turkmenistan goods worth over $288 million since the beginning of the year. It is noted that imports of goods from Turkmenistan to Russia increased compared to the same period last year by $59 million ($229 million in 2020).
