The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 12.5 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded.
“About 4.15 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month, which is an increase of 17.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 2.53 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded, 1.62 million tons were unloaded. The loaded products increased by 28.5 percent and unloaded products by 3.2 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
In addition, 2.62 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is an increase of 29.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 203,000 tons were loaded and 2.42 million tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, about 758,000 tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the seventh month, which is a decrease of 14.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 690,000 tons were loaded and about 67,500 tons were unloaded.
“At the same time, about 1.77 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is an increase of 16.8 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 1.48 million tons were loaded and 289,000 tons were unloaded,” the statistics said.
Within the 7th month, 44,300 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports. This is a decrease of 10.1 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 6,200 tons were loaded and 38,100 tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, 464,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 7th month of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 15.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 353,000 tons were loaded and about 111,000 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 73,700 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper, and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the seventh month, which is an increase of 21.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 2,800 tons of goods were loaded and 70,900 tons were unloaded.
A total of 611,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the same month. The loaded/unloaded products increased by 25.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 316,000 tons were loaded and 295,000 tons were unloaded, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 1.48 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 7th month, which is a decrease of 11.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, about 785,000 tons of container products were loaded and 695,000 tons were unloaded.
Moreover, about 5.26 million tons of goods were exported and 3.19 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.
Also, 360,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 246,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month.
According to the statistics, 589,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.98 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage in the 7th month. Also, 152,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 139,000 tons were unloaded for transshipment.
“Over the seventh month, about 6,130 tons of cargo were loaded and 49,200 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
