Number of passenger planes received by Iran’s Shiraz International Airport surges

The number of passenger planes received by the Shiraz Shahid Dastghaib International Airport in the Fars Province (southern Iran) increased by 40 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, a total of 18,235 passenger planes took off and landed at the Shiraz International Airport in 8 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 13,044.

Over 8 months, 1,338,113 passengers were transported through the airport. Passenger transportation increased by 25 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 1,073,493 passengers had been transported via this airport in the same period last Iranian year.

In addition, 14,580 tons of cargo were transported through the Shiraz Airport within the mentioned period. Cargo transportation increased by 42 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure amounted to 10,256 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

Iran’s Shiraz Shahid Dastghaib International Airport can receive 10 million passengers a year.
