Head of Turks-Ahiska awarded honorary citizen title of Ili district of Almaty

On Feb. 17 president of the World Coordinating Council of the Turks-Ahiska, chairman of the Turks-Ahiska National Center in Kazakhstan Ziyaddin Ismikhanoglu was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Ili district of Almaty.

The honorary citizen title was previously awarded to Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan A. Shpekbaev and K. Kasymov.

Mayor of Ili region Nikolai Logot presented a special certificate of honorary citizen to Ismikhanoglu and thanked the President of the World Coordinating Council of the Turks-Ahiska for his charitable contribution, financing of education and youth representation in national and international competitions.

Ismikhanoglu's brother Husein Ismikhanoglu, a deputy in the Council, was also thanked for his activity. Over the last two years the brothers Ismikhanoglu built and provided the faithful five mosques worth 500,000 dollars.

"I grew up in Ili. I started working in this region as soon as I graduated from the National Economy Institute. The path to business, which we have built with my brother Hussein we began from Ili and presently I am proud that I am a representative of this small, but at the same time, a large region," Ismikhanoglu said.
