The East-Kazakhstan Oblast Akimat, Kazakhstan Housing and Utilities Sector Reform Centre JSC and UNDP/GEF projects on energy efficiency has organized a regional conference to mull the issues of implementation of innovations and energy-efficient technologies in housing and utilities sector, the UNDP in Astana reported.

The conference was aimed at creating the dialogue platform for the best practices exchange, discussing joint organizational and financial schemes for energy efficiency increase, assisting in technology transfer, attracting investments, and concluding mutually beneficial contracts.

The conference is to become the very uniting platform, based on which the housing and utilities sector participants - that is state bodies and private business, representatives of academia, and service companies, equipment and modern technology producers, financial structures - will be capable of solving a wide array of practical issues, as well as elaborating effective and awarding cooperation mechanisms, the report reads.

The Kazakh Agency for Construction, Housing and Utilities with the active participation of "Kazakhstan Housing and Utilities Sector Reform Centre" JSC now implements the 2020 Housing and Utilities Sector Reform Program. The program provides for the complex modernization activities on infrastructure and utilities, water supply and water disposal systems, rearrangement of supply lines, introduction of energy efficient technologies, as well as thermal reconstruction of the residential housing, with financial resources available for these measures.
