World Forum of Spiritual Culture opens in Astana

An international conference entitled "Spiritual culture - a key to the transformation of the world" is being held in Astana. It brought together religious scholars and scientists, politicians, and artists. On October 18, Kazakhstan has been celebrating Spiritual Harmony Day for 19 consecutive years. The first World Forum of Spiritual Culture was held on the same exact day a year ago in Astana. According to Senator Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov, today's conference is a continuation of ideas of the last year's forum, Caspionet reported.

Hollywood actor Armand Assante was among the guests who arrived in Astana from different countries.

US actor Armand Assante said that this forum is very important when the world is so troubled and many people forgot what it means to be truly spiritual and cultivated. The actor added that we need to talk about it, remind ourselves about it, and listen to one another.

According to the meeting participants, disconnection of people from their roots is one of the major tragedies of modern society. Culture turned commercial and the meaning and value of traditional cultures were lost.

The forum is an open and constructive dialogue, participants said. After all, the word is father to the action. This was also an opportunity to see Astana, a city that many refer to as the spiritual capital of the world.

According to Bawa Jain, the Secretary General of the World Council of Religious Leaders, he is proud to be American and the best thing in America is Thanksgiving Day, when the whole family gathers for a dinner and overcomes all the problems and family conflicts. He went on by saying that he is grateful to Kazakhstan for an opportunity to assemble in Astana and also sit at one table, as members of one big human family.
