It is necessary to begin construction of the facility of a catastrophic water discharge in Shardara reservoir in the South Kazakhstan Oblast and to complete the construction of dams from the surge waves of the Caspian Sea in the Atyrau region, Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Bozhko said at the governmental meeting.

"It is necessary to implement a very important project this year - a facility of a catastrophic water discharge in Shardara reservoir," he said. "There are a project, estimate, money. This year, it is necessary to implement it."

Moreover, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the construction of dams from surge waves of the Caspian Sea has not been completed in the Atyrau region.
