Former lawyer of the Kazakh oil company Karazhanbasmunai Natalia Sokolova has appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office on Feb. 1 with a request to reduce her punishment.
"The applicant stated that she fully admits her guilt," the statement said. "The General Prosecutor's Office considered the application, and took into account the extenuating circumstances (she has a child and was not judged earlier)."
The Supreme Court met the appeal of the General Prosecutor's Office on March 6. The sentence was reduced to three-year conditional imprisonment with a probation period of two years. In this connection, she was immediately released from prison.
