Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev on the 72th birthday over phone on Friday. In the telephone conversation Putin and Nazarbayev also discussed preparation for the bilateral cooperation forum of the two countries which will take place in September, Russian presidential press-service reported.
"Putin in a telephone conversation congratulated Kazakh President Nazarbayev on his birthday and wished him further success in state activities. The presidents discussed preparation for the ninth forum on interregional cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in Pavlodar, scheduled for September 2012," the press-service said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev was born in 1940. He has held the presidential post since April 1990.
