A National Day of Kazakhstan was held in the South Korean city of Yeosu on July 8 at the International Exhibition EXPO 2012, which is held from May 12 to August 12, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan said on Monday.

Kazakhstan has officially participated in the exhibition EXPO for the fourth time, the theme announced by the organizers - The Living Ocean and the coastal zone.

Kazakh delegation is headed by Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, and the Korean side - Commissioner General for EXPO 2012 Lee Joon-hee.

Commissioner General for EXPO 2012 Lee Joon-hee and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bakhytzhan Sagintayev noted the importance of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Korea, and expressed hope for their further expansion at the opening of the National Day of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan presents pavilion with total area of 774 square meters. The exhibition tells about the history and traditions of the country, its modern life, and the prospects of Kazakhstan. A special place in Kazakhstan's pavilion is given to the candidacy of Astana to hold EXPO in 2017.

A gala concert, which was attended by popular performers of dance, ethnic, instrumental, folk, vocal pop and classical genres from Kazakhstan, was also held during the National Day of Kazakhstan.
