As previously reported, there was an armed attack on police officers on July 28 in Almaty. As a result, police officer Yerzhan Kayrakbaev died on the spot, and Ernaz Kozhakhmetov was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan said.
The criminals took possession of the police service weapon (a Kalashnikov, and Makarov pistol).
A criminal case under Article 96 (murder) of the Criminal Code was filled on the same day.
As a result of the recent operational measures suspects were identified. They were previously convicted of serious crimes.
