Kazakhstan will create a new model of labor relations, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan Serik Abdenov said at the IV Economic Big Business Forum Expert-100-Kazakhstan.

"A new model of labor relations, based on the principles of decent work, will be created by the order of the President. First of all the matter is about establishing a decent dialogue between the employee and the employer," Abdenov said.

He noted that at present, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security is working on a bill relating to the activities of trade unions and the working partnership.

"In addition the map of social risks is created and the work over the map of social tension is being carried out. We as a state agency try to prevent conflicts," he said.

He added that actions are held in Kazakhstan due to non-payment of wages mainly in the construction industry - 76 percent, and conflicts due to dissatisfaction with the salary mainly in the oil and gas industry.

"So, today, wage arrears in Kazakhstan is 1 billion 37 million tenge ($ 1 - 150 tenge), and it refers to several thousand employees. This debt is for three months. So families did not receive income for three months," the minister said.
