Construction of Abu Dhabi Plaza in Astana must be completed by late 2016

Construction of Abu Dhabi Plaza in Astana must be completed by late 2016, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev said on Jan.29 at a meeting during which the plan of work for the 2014 Abu Dhabi Plaza project was discussed.
"We should maximally involve local companies in the construction of Abu Dhabi Plaza," the deputy prime minister said.
This project is being implemented within the agreement between the President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the leadership of the United Arab Emirates. The project is fully financed by investors from the UAE. The total amount of investments will be $1.6 billion.
This is the first complex in Kazakhstan being built on advanced developments in the field of power supply and environment, the highest residential complex among those planned in the CIS and the first of its kind multifunctional complex, which combines the concept of "business, housing, and entertainment" (the complex includes retail trade, offices, hotel and residential space).
About 7,000 people in a two-shift work will be involved in the construction of the complex in 2014, according to the chairman of the board of Aldar Properties Abu Bakr al-Khoury. Currently, about 1,000 workers work on the construction site.
