Director of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan Nurlan Zhulamanov is formally accused of bribery and organization of transnational criminal group, the press service of the military court of Akmola garrison said Oct.30.
Akmola garrison military court considered materials to authorize preventive measure against N. Zhulamanov.The court has also ordered the arrest of the top official till December 27 of 2014.
"The charges are brought against Zhulamanov on two Articles: 235 pt. 3 (organization of transnational criminal group) and 311 pt. 5 (bribery)," the authorities said.
Nurlan Zhulamanov was detained by the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan on October 27 on suspicion to power abuse.
The case of Zhulamanov is under the supervision of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office.
Nurlan Zhulamanov has served as Chief of the Air Defense Forces of the Land Forces of Kazakhstan, Chief of the Supreme Command School of the Air Defense Forces of Kazakhstan, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff - Chief of Combat Training of General Staff of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Commander of the Land Forces of Kazakhstan, Deputy Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan.
On May 7, 2012 Zhulamanov was awarded the title of Lieutenant-General.
Zhulamanov was head of the Border service since January 2013.
