It is not planned to introduce a single currency in the Eurasian Economic Union, Dauren Abaev, spokesperson of Kazakhstan's president said.

He made the remarks during the online press conference, according to the message from Kazakh presidency.

"Today, the introduction of a payment unit and single currency in the Eurasian Economic Union is not on the agenda," said Abaev.

Earlier, chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Slutsky said that the work on introducing a payment currency for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union is underway, but there are some difficulties.

He noted that the currency can be named evraz.
