Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin spoke about a number of instructions regarding the provision of water to the population at the government meeting, Trend reports referring to Kazinform.

First of all, the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources must develop a roadmap for the construction of 9 large reservoirs and the reconstruction of 120 canals, as well as their digitalization, Mamin said.

Besides, according to him, the ministries of agriculture, ecology, geology and natural resources, together with regional authorities, were instructed to develop regional roadmaps for the introduction of water-saving technologies in irrigated areas until 2025 within a month, as well as to take measures to modernize existing hydraulic structures, wells on pastures.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the authorities of Almaty, Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions, must work out the issue of a gradual reduction in the area of ​​crops of hygrophilous crops (rice and cotton), concluded the prime minister.
