The Mazhilis [lower chamber of the parliament] of the Parliament of Kazakhstan will consider the draft law "on the ratification of the Joint Declaration of the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on the creation of a long-term strategic partnership for the development of projects in priority sectors," Trend reports citing Kazinform.
According to the Member of the Parliament Albert Rau, the committee is ready to prepare an opinion on this bill.
He noted that the document is aimed at attracting foreign direct investment in energy, transport, logistics, and agriculture.
Earlier, Member of the Parliament deputy Azat Peruashev said that an intergovernmental agreement with the UAE could give impetus to the development of renewable and traditional energy in Kazakhstan.
In turn, MP Jambyl Ahmetbekov expressed confidence that the development of investment cooperation, in particular, with the UAE, is beneficial to Kazakhstan, as it contributes to the creation of new enterprises, the introduction of advanced technologies and the creation of jobs.
