BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21. Kazakh products about 7,500 units and approximately 130 companies are presented on Alibaba online platform, cumulative sales amounted to $164 million since 2020, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the 4th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan's Cholpon-Ata, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

The President of Kazakhstan considers it necessary to use modern ways to increase the export of goods along with traditional approaches.

“The recent widespread restrictions and lockdowns have shown the high importance of the development of e-commerce,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

“Kazakhstan proposes at the initial stage to organize a joint promotion of products at upcoming online exhibitions, given the competitive position of Central Asian countries,” the Kazakh president noted.

Tokayev cited Russia as an example, which presented over 50,000 items of goods during the last exhibition at the Alibaba site.

Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan became the 18th country that opened a national pavilion on the Alibaba platform this year. The pavilion was opened on June 24, 2022.

“Kazakh products about 7,500 units and approximately 130 companies are presented on Alibaba online platform, cumulative sales amounted $164 million since 2020. We plan to increase sales as we have enough reserves,” Kazakh President added.
