BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31. Uzbekistan increased import of food products from Kazakhstan by 1.4 times in seven months of 2022, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
According to State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, with a share of 37 percent, retains the first place in the list of main countries-suppliers of food products (from January through July 2022).
The purchase of Kazakh products by Uzbekistan increased by 1.4 times compared to the same period last year, increasing from $499.3 million up to $698.9 million.
Uzbekistan's import of wheat from Kazakhstan increased from $344.9 million to $422.4 million (by 1.2 times), wheat flour - from $45.9 million to $68.5 million (by 1.5 times), vegetable oil - from $43.6 million to $62.5 million (by 1.4 times), meat - from $10.2 million to $39.6 million (by 3.9 times).
The top five importers also include Russia - 24.6 percent (of total imports), Brasil - 13.8 percent, Belarus - 4.3 percent, Pakistan - 2.7 percent.
More than 95 percent of flour in Uzbekistan is imported from Kazakhstan.
