BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. Member of the Board of Directors, CEO of Kazakhstan’s “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC (National Welfare Fund) Almassadam Satkaliyev spoke about technologies considered for the construction of nuclear power plants (NPPs) in the country, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

“We understand that by 2030 Kazakhstan needs to build a large energy source. The government is close to determining the site for construction,” Satkaliyev said.

“As soon as the construction site is officially determined, the procedures for determining the construction vendor will be completed, based on the great work which has been done by a group of experts during their visits to the existing and under construction sites in Türkiye, Hungary, France, South Korea, and China,” he noted.

According to him, several countries will share their experience in the construction.

“The construction should definitely be carried out in the form of an international consortium, that is, not one country will supply and build the entire station,” the CEO explained. “We’ll take the best technologies.”

“As for power equipment, which is connected with the generation of electricity, we see the best technologies from the US General Electric and Korean manufacturers. In terms of auxiliary equipment - automation, accounting systems, pumping equipment, a large number of the manufacturers are European countries, such as France and Germany," Satkaliyev said.
