BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 24. Kazakhstan allocates 120 billion Kazakh tenge ($278 million) for rural development, Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

According to Sklyar, these funds will improve living conditions in 576 rural settlements in Kazakhstan. Some 91 projects are aimed at improving housing and communal services, 454 - are social infrastructure enhancement, and 511 projects will lead to transport infrastructure upgrades.

At the same time, an additional 140 billion Kazakh tenge ($305 million) will be allocated for the project over 2023.

Meanwhile, around 8 million people, or 41 percent of Kazakhstan’s population, live in 6,293 rural settlements in the country.
