BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. Kazakhstan plans to reduce the share of public sector in the national economy to 14 percent by 2025 Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, told government officials during a meeting, Trend reports, citing the Central Communications Service under the President.

Speaking at the meeting dedicated to this matter, Finance Minister Erulan Jamaubaev stated that the privatization plan, which will be executed from 2021 through 2025, includes 675 objects of state property and the quasi-public sector. Of them, 7 objects of the government and 250 objects of communal property, while 262 objects belong to national holdings and companies.

Jamaubaev added that 253 objects, with a total worth of 141.7 billion Kazakh tenge ($300 million) have been transferred to a competitive environment, 60 objects are being reorganized or liquidated, 146 objects have been put on sale, while 216 objects are being prepared for privatization.

The prime minister concluded by saying that more attention should be paid to improving the quality of pre-sale preparation of objects being sold, and the transparency of the privatization process.
