BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. Kazakhstan will allocate 444 billion Kazakh tenge ($964 million) for road modernization and construction projects, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan.

According to the statement, the 59 projects will be carried out before the year-end.

In particular, the continuation of the construction of a bridge over the Bukhtarma reservoir and the reconstruction of an auto-drawn bridge in the city of Semey are considered to be the major projects to be completed in 2023.

Additionally, the punching of radial roads and the solution of problems of projects in the western regions will be implemented.

The move to reconstruct the road infrastructure comes as a part of the national strategy to modernize up to 95 percent of the road infrastructure by 2025. Estimates suggest that 27,000 kilometers of roads have to be reconstructed to accomplish this objective.
