BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. Kazakhstan will allocate around 143 billion Kazakh tenge ($308.2 million), Alikhan Smailov, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports, citing the Central Communications Service under the President.

The funds come as a part of the government framework to improve the living standards in rural and remote non-urban areas. The government plans to raise the quality of life in 3,500 areas by 2027.

The funds will be allotted to complete the implementation of 1,500 projects with the goal to improve the living standards of the rural population.

According to the prime minister, some 3,600 projects worth around 326 billion Kazakh tenge ($702.8 million) were already implemented in rural areas during the previous years. The projects were carried out in the fields of housing improvement, transportation, education, healthcare, as well as culture, and sports.

However, the Kazakh PM noted that Ulytau and West Kazakhstan regions lag behind, and they should step up the efforts to implement the number of agreed-upon projects in a timely fashion.
