BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. Kazakhstan implemented 160 industrial projects worth around 2 trillion Kazakh tenge ($4.29 billion) in 2022, Alikhan Smailov, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.
According to the prime minister, the number of projects to be implemented in 2023 is expected to be around 149. However, the forecasted worth of the projects is estimated to be considerably less, around 1.1 trillion Kazakh tenge ($2.37 billion).
Smailov said that it is vital to increase the volume of economic diversification, by broadening the pool of projects being implemented in the regions.
“I believe that slowing down the pace of economic diversification is unacceptable. We are faced with the task of ensuring sustainable growth of the country's GDP with an output of 4-5 percent annual growth”, the prime minister added.
