BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 3. Kazakhstan to implement around 149 industrial projects in 2023, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan.

The ministry estimates the overall value of the projects to reach 1.1 trillion Kazakh tenge ($2.4 billion) creating around 16,300 work opportunities in the process.

The majority of the projects will be carried out in the fields of light industry, metallurgy, and automotive industries.

One of the significant projects to be completed is the construction of a ferroalloy plant in Ekibastuz, which is forecasted to manufacture around 240,000 tons of production.

Another major project is the construction of a special coke production plant, with an output of 400,000 tons. The implementation of the project will enable Kazakhstan to substitute imports and manufacture products with a high value-added.

Earlier, the Kazakh government revealed that the industrial sector of the Kazakh economy demonstrated significant growth in 2022. Manufacturing, engineering, and automotive industry enterprises demonstrated particular growth.

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development earlier announced that it aims to boost the output of the petrochemical industry. The strategy of the Ministry is aimed at diversifying the economy of the country by tapping into the unexplored potential of industrial development of the nation.
