Kazakhstan reveals January GDP growth figure

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. The growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Kazakhstan during January amounted to 5.6 percent, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

The growth in the real sector of the economy amounted to 2.3 percent, while the growth of the services sector reached 7.6 percent.

Positive dynamic is observable in each major economic category, specifically in trade, information, and communication, as well as construction.

The investment inflow increased in the industrial sector by 9.2 percent, with the mining industry recording a 12.6 percent growth in the process. Investments in agriculture increased by a particularly impressive 33.7 percent, while investment inflows in transport and warehousing increased by 31.8 percent.

The Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan is an executive body that regulates many issues including strategic planning, tax and budgetary policies, and international economic and financial relations among others. The ministry also releases monthly statistical reports on the state of the economy in Kazakhstan.
