Kazakhstan's KazTransOil extends agreement on transit of Russian oil to China

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. Kazakhstan's KazTransOil extended the agreement on the transit of 10 million tons per year of Russian oil to China, Trend reports via the press service of KazTransOil.

According to the company, KazTransOil JSC has concluded an additional agreement with the Russian Rosneft to the contract for the provision of services for the transportation of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China.

The recent additional agreement between KazTransOil JSC and Rosneft brings significant developments to their existing agreement. The newly extended agreement, now set until January 1, 2034, entails the transportation of 10 million tons of Russian oil per year to the People's Republic of China, maintaining the current tariff.

Currently, the tariff of KazTransOil JSC for the service of transporting 10 million tons of Russian oil per year through the territory of Kazakhstan to China along the border of the Russian Federation–border of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Priirtyshsk)–Atasu (Kazakhstan)–Alashankou (China) route is $15 per ton excluding VAT.

From January through April 2023, KazTransOil transited 3.2 million tons of Russian oil to China.
