BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Kazakhstan's KAZ Minerals and China Nonferrous Metal Mining Corporation plan to build a copper smelting plant in Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan.
According to the information, this was stated at the meeting between Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Jinjun Zhang, Director General of China Nonferrous Mining Corporation.
During the conversation, the issues of implementing projects in the fields of mining metallurgy and deep processing of raw materials were discussed.
In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the plans of the Chinese company and KAZ Minerals to jointly implement a project for the construction of a copper smelter in Kazakhstan. The president noted that the implementation of such major projects is the result of a successful partnership between the two countries.
On May 17, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev left for a state visit to China. On the first day of his visit, which will last until May 19, a number of documents that envisage cooperation in various fields, including energy, were signed.
