BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are going to establish industrial trade and logistics complex, Trend reports.
The relevant agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum by Daniyar Amangeldiev, Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, and Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
The industrial trade and logistics complex is expected to be created in the vicinity of the Ak-Tilek and Karasu border checkpoints.
The decision to create new industrial and logistics complexes was reached following mutual visits by the heads of state and the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council meeting held on April 29, 2022.
The project is seen as a new growth point to boost bilateral trade and real-sector projects between the two countries. The establishment of the joint Kyrgyz-Kazakh industrial trade and logistics complex aims to implement profitable export-oriented projects and enhance the competitiveness of various sectors of the economy, including the utilization of advanced production and sales management technologies.
The key priorities of the project's activities include:
- industrial cooperation, the creation of new production facilities, and job opportunities;
- storage and processing of meat and agricultural products;
- improvement of logistics and entrepreneurial infrastructure;
- adoption of new technologies;
- diversification of agricultural production;
- handling, storage, and processing of agricultural and industrial products;
- production of consumer goods with high competitive advantages, including food and agricultural products;
- manufacturing of new products and their effective integration into international supply chain systems;
- other activities in line with the objectives of establishing and operating the project.
