BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Kazakshtan's Astana hosted the first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Belgium Business Council aimed at enhancing bilateral economic relations, Trend reports.
It was noted at the meeting that the economic ties between Kazakhstan and Belgium have been developing dynamically. Since 2005, Belgium has invested a total of $11.52 billion in Kazakhstan, consistently holding a leading position among Kazakh investors. In 2022, the trade turnover exceeded $514 million, marking a 19 percent increase compared to 2021.
Currently, there are seven Kazakhstan-Belgium investment projects worth over $307 million in progress. It was mentioned that Belgium is an important economic partner of Kazakhstan within the EU, with several intergovernmental agreements in place to deepen trade and economic cooperation and promote mutual investment protection.
The Kazakhstan-Belgium Business Council, organized by Baiterek JSC national holding with the support of Kazakh Invest JSC national company, brought together more than 50 representatives of government agencies and businesses of the two countries.
