BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. Kazakhstan exported agricultural products worth $1.88 billion from January through April 2023, Trend reports.
According to the country's Bureau of National Statistics, this figure reflects a modest increase of 4.24 percent compared to the same period in the previous year when exports reached $1.79 billion.
In terms of quantity, Kazakh exports of agricultural products in the reporting period increased by 17.01 percent reaching 5.1 million tons against 4.3 million tons from January through April 2022.
Meanwhile, the country's imports of agricultural products also saw an increase. As such, Kazakhstan imported goods worth $2.036 billion in the first four months of this year, which is 18.36 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year.
Processed agricultural products accounted for the largest share in both the export and import structure of Kazakhstan's agricultural goods. During the period, Kazakhstan exported 1.3 million tons of processed agricultural products valued at $748 million, while importing 2.09 million tons worth $1.36 billion.
In 2022, Kazakhstan's agricultural exports amounted to $5.5 billion, while imports reached $4.7 billion.
