Plant for production of soda ash to be built in Kazakh region

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 25. A plant for production of soda ash will be built in the Sarysu district of the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

This was stated during a meeting between the head of the regional executive power, Yerbol Karashukeyev, and the General Director of Yildirim Holding, Ismail Ceylan. The meeting was also attended by the director of Qazaq Soda LLP Ramazan Ibraimov.

As noted during the meeting, $400 million was invested in the construction of the facility, which will be put into operation in 2025. Construction and installation work has now begun. Once the plant is up and running, some 1,000 new jobs will become available.

The production capacity of the new plant is 500,000 tons per year with the prospect of increasing to one million tons.

Ismail Ceylan noted that the plant will fully cover the country’s domestic needs and carry out export deliveries. He also drew attention to the fact that innovative technologies will be used that will allow for waste-free production.

Issues related to the provision of infrastructure were also discussed at the meeting.
