ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 21. The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is implementing 34 projects this year in Akmola, Almaty, Atyrau, Ulytau, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, Turkestan, and North Kazakhstan regions, Trend reports.
As part of these activities, work on water supply and renovation of water supply systems will be carried out in 158 settlements.
As a result, more than 450,000 people will have access to quality drinking water. Completion dates are planned for 2024–2025.
In 2021–2022, seven facilities were put into operation as part of the construction and reconstruction of group water pipelines in the Akmola, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Ulytau, and North Kazakhstan regions.
"As a result of these works, more than 800 kilometers of water supply networks were built. The quality of water supply has improved in 51 rural settlements with a total population of 203,000 people and in the cities of Satpayev, Makinsk, and Zhezkazgan. Five rural settlements with a total population of 6,000 people received access to quality drinking water," said the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.
As previously reported, Kazakhstan will study Israeli experience in developing the agro-industrial complex and water resource management.
This was discussed during a meeting between the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, and the Chairman of the Israel-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Michael Rohe.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize an exchange of experience and joint work on all the issues raised in the very near future.
